A leading e-commerce search and navigation specialist, FACT-Finder, is bolstering its footprint in the UK with the acquisition of PrismaStar, the UK’s award-winning provider of Guided Selling Solutions for e-commerce retailers.

The acquisition complements FACT-Finder’s current offering, providing a foothold in the UK market and a base in Cambridge, one of Europe’s key technology hubs. FACT-Finder will use PrismaStar’s expertise and knowledge of the UK market to further enhance and develop its UK strategy as well as integrating PrismaStar’s existing products and services with the well-established FACT-Finder product set. This creates an even richer “conversion engine” covering on-site search, product guidance, personalisation, recommendations and product data optimisation.

“I’m delighted to bring PrismaStar’s expertise on board,” said Carsten Kraus, Founder and CEO, FACT-Finder.com. “The opportunity to acquire the business was too good to refuse, allowing us to build on PrismaStar’s extensive knowledge of the UK market – the largest ecommerce market in Europe. We will integrate PrismaStar’s strong product approach into FACT-Finder to provide an even more comprehensive offering to our ecommerce customers.”

Positioning itself as an expert in product data services, guided selling technology and behavioural analytics, PrismaStar is said to have built a reputation in the UK as an innovative e-commerce thought leader with customers who have included Vodafone, Tesco, Currys, Very, Phones4U and Deutsche Telekom.

Jonathan Horden, CEO, PrismaStar, said: “This acquisition is a really natural fit for both companies, enabling FACT-Finder to address the UK market much more aggressively and integrate two product sets that are very complimentary to create great solutions for online companies.”

FACT-Finder’s mission statement is simple: ‘You have the visitors. We make them buy.’ Over the past 10 years, FACT-Finder has evolved from a small innovator to the leading provider in mainland Europe, serving over 1,300 online shops. FACT-Finder has always had a strong foothold in Europe and is growing further in the UK with clients including Hobbycraft, Kurt Geiger and Secret Escapes.
